Statement of Purpose

The Children’s Ministry at Mt. Zion exists to:

  • Bring children to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ
  • Make disciples by training children in the knowledge and love of God
  • Build community by helping children establish friendships and creating an environment of acceptance, love, and joy
  • Build the Kingdom through creating opportunities for children to serve others
  • Strengthen families to be little outposts for the Kingdom of God in our world

Children’s Activities at Mt. Zion

Early Childhood:

Nursery is provided at all services. Children are cared for in a loving,
nurturing environment while parents attend services and classes.

The Hiding Place - 3rd grade and up:

The Hiding Place is a ministry designed for children ages 3rd grade and older who are not able to participate in the other programs offered at that time.  These chosen children with special needs are welcomed into a loving time of learning, creative activities, and fellowship together.  This enables parents, who often face the many stresses of loving and raising these children, to attend worship and have a time away with the Lord.

Pioneer Club - Age 2 to 5th Grade:

Sunday night at Mt. Zion finds children meeting together with Adult Leaders in Pioneer Club, a program designed to help children grow in the faith, while doing fun and creative activities.  From 6:00-7:30 p.m. children, ages 2– 5th grade have a wonderful time of growing together.  Throughout the year, many additional events bring the children and adults together for service projects, evangelistic outreaches, and fun.  Some of these activities include:

  • Bowling for Bibles (money is raised to buy Bibles)
  • Cans Film Festival (cans of food are collected for the Food Pantry)
  • Bel Air Christmas Parade (a float with the Gospel Message is entered in the Parade)
  • End of Year Camp Out (a weekend camping experience in late May for those who have participated in the Pioneer Program)
