Craig McLaughlin

I love being a husband, a father, and a follower of Jesus. I love God. I love Mt. Zion Church. What gets me excited is seeing what happens when we love people the way Jesus did.The world gets turned upside down. Lives are changed. Hearts are healed.


Randy Markoff

I started on Mt Zion staff in Sept 2007 as a visitation minister and serve now as Director of Pastoral Care. Some aspects of my position include:

Visiting members of the church in their homes or healthcare facilities for   prayer.

Meeting with and listening to the needs of our members going through a trial.

Lead a Bible Study and an Intercessory Prayer Group during the week.

Involved with serving meals at our Care Night Ministry held once every 8 weeks.

Involved with Stephen Ministry, Marriage Mentoring, and Operation Timothy.

Oversee both our Welcoming outreach to new visitors and our Special Needs Ministry.


I graduated from SUNY @ Plattsburgh, NY with a BS in teaching and while serving in the US Navy I met my wife, Betty, in Va Beach. I became a Christian shortly after and we got married. We’ve been blessed with 4 children and 9 grandchildren all living in the Bel Air area. Betty and I love visiting OC, collecting shells, taking long walks, and being an active part in our family’s lives.

Director of Pastoral Care

Amanda Davis

Amanda oversees all children's ministry activities for children 0-5th grade.  This ministry encourages children in their spiritual growth and provides fun fellowship opportunities for them and their families.  Children and their families enjoy our Harvest Party, Birthday Party for Jesus, Parents Night Out, and  so much more. 


I have been married to my husband Mike for 14 years.  We have three boys, Lucas, Paul, and Rob.  In my free time I enjoy helping at the boys school, scrapbooking, and spending time outside.  Before having the boys, I taught middle school math. 

Children's Ministries

Larry Heitmueller

I am responsible for overseeing the discipleship ministries of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. This includes, but is not limited to, Children's Ministries, Youth and Young Adult Ministries, Adult Discipleship, Celebrate Recovery activities and Evangelism and Missions.


Larry & Amy have been married for 42 years, have 3 grown, energetic, artistic children (Amy Beth, David & Daniel) and have 6 wonderful grandchildren (Faith, Noah, Levi, Nate, Caleb, & Luke). We love our family, CR, traveling & enjoying good music. Larry likes to spend time woodworking, reading, and working on model trains whenever time permits.

Andy McMullin

As a Youth Minister Andy helps Mt. Zion students (6th-12th grade) draw near to Christ. Andy has been married to his wife Emily for 13 years.  They have three children, Mark, Ella and Jose.  Andy enjoys outdoor activities, music, sports and family time.

Steve Presser

Steve Presser serves as the Director of Worship for Mount Zion leading multiple staff and volunteers consisting of various departments including worship music, worship technology, children's choir, cherub choir, and Silent Witness (Mime Troupe).  Steve has over 20 years of music and ministry experience and also served as a chaplain assistant in the U.S. Army with service in Iraq in 2006. He is married to his beautiful bride Samantha (our Director of Media & Marketing) and together they have a son named Everett and a daughter named Rozlyn.

Todd Twining

Todd Twining is a minister, worship leader, and songwriter whose greatest passion is worshiping God and helping others do the same. A graduate of Liberty University, Todd enjoys teaching the Word of God, equipping pastors and worship teams, and making disciples. He is an educator at the Bryn Mawr School and lives in Harford County with his wife Susanna and their family.

I am a Harford County native and after studying at The Sheffield Institute for the Recording Arts, I began working in the diverse venues all around our local area. I enjoy being a behind-the-scenes team member that helps to create and bring the magic of light and sound alive! And I hope to do that in full here at Mt. Zion.

Samantha Presser

​Samantha Presser serves as the Director of Media & Marketing for Mount Zion. She holds two college degrees, the first in Fine Art with an emphasis in sculpting and painting and the other in Business with an emphasis in marketing in Advertising.  Samantha has over 15 years of experience with marketing and advertising campaigns, and over 10 years of experience with various social media outlets. She is married to her handsome husband Steven (our Director of Worship) and together they have a son named Everett and a daughter named Rozlyn.

Brian Peters

Brian is responsible for all operations, maintenance and oversight of our facilities, grounds and cemetery.


I have been married to my lovely wife Ruth for 16 years and have 2 wonderful daughters, Kristina and Stephanie. In addition to serving at Mt. Zion I serve as a pastor in a local church plant in the Aberdeen area. I'm a musician and also enjoys antique car restoration.

Courtney West

I am wildly in love with my hubby of 26 years, Michael, and adore our 3 children. Part of my heart belongs in Namibia where I was blessed to serve at Mt. Zion's orphanage and hope to return there someday. I enjoy reading, hiking with my husband and border-aussie, and having fun with my girlfriends.

Will and Bev met at age 3 at Nursery School at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Baltimore. They have been married 45 years. Bev taught 27 years in Baltimore and Harford County before retiring earlier to take care of her parents. Will worked for 37 years at APG. He retired early to pursue joint ministry with Bev. God called them to Mt Zion 10 years ago, and He has provided ministry opportunities for them to serve as volunteers. God's providential hand has been at work in their marriage and service to Him.
