Candidates for Associate Minister and Ordained Minister credentials participate in a guided mentoring process designed to foster spiritual growth, theological clarity, and ministry readiness. This includes regular meetings with a pastoral mentor, formative reading, and evaluation against the appropriate competency outcomes. Commissioned Ministers are not required to complete a mentorship phase, as their credential reflects readiness for service without this additional developmental step. Endorsement The Mt. Zion Ministry Fellowship Ministry Endorsement Standards define how Mt. Zion Church affirms individuals for specific ministry roles. While credentialing recognizes God’s call on a person’s life and affirms their readiness for ministry in general, endorsement assigns that person to a particular role of ministry under Mt. Zion’s covering. This process is especially important for individuals who hold ministerial credentials from outside organizations but seek to serve in recognized roles within Mt. Zion. Endorsement provides spiritual authority, relational accountability, and institutional affirmation, ensuring that all who serve align with the church’s mission, doctrine, and values. Candidates must demonstrate theological clarity, moral integrity, ministry competence, and a commitment to Mt. Zion’s leadership standards. Evaluations are conducted by the Credentialing & Endorsement Committee (CEC), which reviews qualifications, verifies alignment, and confirms readiness for service. Through this process, endorsement clarifies both the scope and responsibility of a minister’s role within the life and mission of Mt. Zion Church. Credentialing vs. Endorsement Credentialing Recognizes God’s call on a person’s life and affirms their overall readiness and qualification for ministry. Credentialing answers the question: Is this person called and equipped for ministry? Endorsement Assigns a credentialed minister to a specific role or ministry context under Mt. Zion’s covering. Endorsement answers the question: Is this person approved and affirmed to serve in this particular ministry role under Mt. Zion's spiritual covering? Endorsement Categories Church Ministry Service U.S. Missions Global Missions ANNUAL RENEWAL All credentialed and endorsed ministers with Mt.
